Glinkonomics This Week
Mortgage interest rates were pushed down last week because of the April 10th disappointing jobs report. Only 126,000 jobs were added in March and hiring slowed across the board. That’s not good news if you’re looking for a job. However, if you’re trying to buy a home, great news. The 30-year fixed rate mortgage fell to 3.66 percent with an average of about a half point. The 15-year fixed-rate mortgage slid to 2.93 percent. It’s been below 3 percent for the past few weeks. These are incredible interest rates, so if you haven’t done so yet, get out and refinance your mortgage.
