Check writing scams are on the rise, according to the FBI, and Ilyce ran down how these scams typically work and what to watch out for. She answered calls about bad-apple scooter dealers, credit card interest rates, credit scores, whether it’s worth an extra $40,000 to go to a brand-name school over a state school, balance transfers, inheritances, annuities, buying a house with zero down, and whether a credit card purchase would tank a credit score.
